I have the strength of 30 sissies.

I was just looking at my blog and realized, gosh, I better post my weekly update or people will think I’m doing nothing down here. Or not even notice–one of the two.

Just a few more days and I’m flying back up to Canada where I’ll be for a short while. Hopefully REALLY short. But that’s still up to the Lord and supporters, since much of my reason for being home after almost ten months overseas, is for raising the support to stay in Holland indefinitely, and obtain a visa which would permit me to obtain residency. I will go into more detail about that if people ask me personally about it.

Well, Steve is happy:
I got my Macbook’s DVD/CD rom drive fixed at the Apple Store down in south Charlotte. It took about 45 minutes to drive there from where I’m staying, but the King family has a red van a year newer than the one I drove in Canada for a few years, so it felt like I was home, only needing a map from Mapquest.com to get where I’m going. I don’t know what is worse–southerners driving, city drivers–or southern city drivers, but when I learned to drive up in the Great White North, I was taught to SIGNAL my lane changes, not just take them and cut people off. Oh yeah buddy, and checking your blindspot when we’re both going 80 miles an hour would be a great help! But fortunately I have fast reflexes and nobody got hurt any of the 80 some odd times this happened on the interstate.

Other than chilling and going to meet and eat with various people I haven’t seen since last year or longer, I’ve been having myself a good time and don’t have a whole lot to update on. Dan and I finally recorded a new episode of Fire On Your Head last week. We used his computer since mine was in, and in my opinion we sat way too far away from his microphone while speaking, so I apologize for the poor sound quality on this one, but I tried increasing our voice volume in GarageBand and ompensating for it by playing around with the equalizer until it didn’t sound like we were on the phone anymore. So check that out, we give a bunch of ministry updates and I personally am proud of the peripherals (a.k.a. fake ads, fake news and voice mails) on this one, but you’ll just have to tune and listen for them.

For those of you who subscribe in iTunes and have pointed it out to me (Shawn), I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix the problem with the message Understanding This Generation
by Jerome Ocampo. I’ve reloaded it to our server site many times, changed the file name, shrunk it, enlarged it, uploaded it two different ways, and ultimately for whatever reason it just won’t download in iTunes despite being listed there. It works just fine when you download it directly from our podcast site or in the above link. If you stream it through any of the media players on our sites that play them, it works there. I just give up and don’t know what the deal is, and I’ve spent more of my time trying to make it load than I want to. It is still a powerful message worth going and downloading directly from the site if you want to know how to reach the digital generation–than this message will help.

Since many of the messages posted there as of late are teachings from the last two summer schools, they are long like classes, and not short sermons. I still recommend listening, and if you have an iPod or mp3 player or something on your phone where you can download them and go for walks or something, than these are great things to stir yourself up with.

Well, that’s about all for now. Here are some more pictures from the international gathering I went to last Sunday. I’ve been bad at taking pictures on this trip, I’m sorry.
