Greetings all you blogopunks and webheads. I apologize for the lack of updates. OK, not really. I’ve been busy working at Crazytech again, and last week pulled 6 afternoon shifts in. Dividing the spare time I do have between editing two back to back podcast shows, and maintaining the new Fire On Your Head Blog has left me little time to articulate my thoughts, which I’m having many.
Topics I’d love to blog about but don’t have the time:
- Why I’m just as scared of Sarah Palin as I am of Barack Obama, and don’t feel I’m in sin for that opinion
- My latest fund raising endeavour (which I actually will post soon, just not yet).
- Some Biblical reasons why Christians cannot and should not be apathetic about the issue of abortion in our lands.
- Stuff I’m learning in the Bible lately concerning how God’s will works–but I’ll probably prioritize this last since, I’ve already covered that one multiple times on my blog you can just go through the archives on posts I’ve made about healing.
- How extended tongue praying and Bible reading totally changes us – but again, I’ve also covered those a lot already
That is kind of a lame segue into what this post is about. In the quest to find grassroots types of ways to develop more traffic to the Fire On Your Head Blog site without being underhanded and ‘business-like’, I came across directories many bloggers have recommended putting posts in, and helping reach a wider audienc with one’s writings.
Now, to change that to what that means in my vision = reach more people with the Gospel. So I’ve submitted my posts to 5 article directories, 4 of which have accepted my articles. So far I’ve posted the same 8, and in some cases 10 to each of them to increase my exposure on the Internet concerning the things the Lord has put on my heart, and create familiarity in certain niche topics to encourage people to visit the web site who may have their spiritual itch scratched by it. So I’ve been heavily editing old writings of mine on healing and holiness dating back to 2005 and making them more ‘timeless’, and posting them in these places online.
If you’re a long time reader of my blog, then you probably have already read the articles I’ve posted, but they are touched up and if you would like to help me out, please go to the following links–which are my author profiles on these sites–and vote on my articles or rank them in the various ways these sites rank them (usually 5 stars) to help increase their rankings and visibility, which in turn can help increase some traffic to the website:
So far, the Ezine Articles have helped generate noticable traffic back to our site, both the podcast and blog versions of Fire on Your Head.
Also, if you haven’t already visited the site, please do so. I’m constantly tinkering with it and you can now vote on articles and the most popular are displayed in a right hand link. I’m pretty happy with the site, the frequency of posts, the number of visitors it’s starting to get. But I wish I knew how to do something about how slowly it loads initially (like 20-30 seconds before the page shows—that’s insane!) and the difficulty I’m having setting up our forum. I’ll keep you posted once these improvements finally come.
